We pray Catholics and Protestants unite in Pakistan for furtherance of Church says a Christian lawyer

Prominent Pakistani Christian lawyer and social activist Advocate Sooba Bhatti calls for unity between Protestant and Catholic Church in Pakistan. He also felicitated the Lutherans on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, celebrated just recently.

Hyderabad based Christian lawyer expressed a desire for an enthusiastic unity between the Catholic and Protestant Church in Pakistan – the aim of this unity must be furtherance of the mission of our Lord. We must all strive for this inter-denominational unity so that the Church becomes one and is ready to face all the challenges of modern day, he said.

“It is an excellent exhibition of Christian unity that Pope Francis and the Lutheran Federation’s President Bishop Munib Younan laid foundation of global Church’s unity,” Advocate Sooba B said. “We support international unity among two mainstream Christian denominations,” he continued. At this occasion, he felicitated the Lutheran Federation over its 500th anniversary.

In the first papal visit to Sweden Pope Francis stimulated Catholics and Lutherans to forge grander unity, which may include sharing in the Eucharist. Pope Francis presided over an ecumenical prayer service in the Lund cathedral. With this symbolically powerful gesture, he became the first ever pope to commemorate the anniversary of Martin Luther’s revolt.
