Witnesses In Shahbaz Bhatti’s Execution Get Death Threats

Two Christian eyewitnesses in the 2011 murder case of Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan’s former Federal Minister for Minority Affairs said that they have got death threats from Taliban.

Sikandar Bhatti, elder brother of the late minister, and advocate Akmal Bhatti received a note from Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) forewarning them to stop pursuing the case or else they and their family members will die.

 

Police have filed a case against the anonymous militants of TTP and LeJ.

 

Sikandar and Akmal have applied for the government to grant them security.

 

Shahbaz was slain on March 2, 2011 by four mysterious attackers for moving up his voice against the Pakistan’s controversial blasphemy laws.
