Former president of Pakistan and co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari appealed to the scholars to set measure to find out a way for checking the exploitation of the blasphemy law against minorities in Pakistan.
In a message release by PPP media cell on Easter eve Zardari urged the religious scholars, political parties and civil society to show concern towards the serious issues.
“It is deeply worrying that the right to adequate defense is steadily eroding for those charged with religion-related offences,” Zardari said.
“The PPP will continue to fight the ideology of religion-inspired violence that lay at the heart of terrorism,” Asif Ali Zardari.
The co-chairman of PPP added that his party was devoted to certify equivalence and justice for minorities, including Christians as per the promise of the constitution of Pakistan.
On Sunday, April 20, 2014 Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also has prolonged best wishes to Christian community of Pakistan and world on Easter.
In a message issued here on Saturday, Bilawal said he would like to restate the commitment of his party for equivalent privileges to all people of Pakistan, including minorities as protected in the constitution of Pakistan.
The PPP leaders said that they and their party will always remain in the vanguard for the fortification of Christians and other minorities and won’t allow any prejudice to them in any domain of life.
“As citizens of Pakistan, Christians, Hindus, Dalits, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis etc shall enjoy equal rights without any discrimination,” Bilawal said.
